Hard-drive failure. Unrecoverable. 160 GB of image files [NEFs, DNGs, PSDs, TIFFs, JPGs].
Thats what, around 20,000 clicks? Oh well. Of all of that, only the images from that last shooting session of 11/15/08 are on the drive. Strange! What happened to all the stuff from before that? Gone.
Lesson learned: Back it up. Back it up. Back it up again. And, find a better medium to back it up on!
While I’m writing this, yet another NTFS recovery software is running diagnostics to see if there is any chance that there is more data recoverable….
