First Penumbral Lunar eclipse of 2009 [Feb 9th]
The first of four penumbral lunar eclipses for 2009 will happen tomorrow the 9th Feb.
The moon looks nice an plump today and was clearly visible in the Eastern sky even at 5:15 PM today.
Tomorrow’s eclipse will start at 18:38 Bangladesh local time, it will be much darker at that time and the visibility is expected to be good. The penumbral eclipse however, is not as dramatic as the total or partial umbral eclipse and is relatively difficult to notice with the naked-eye… am planning to document [photographically] the eclipse anyway and will post the photos [if any!] here tomorrow.
I took this quick shot today [with a slim Casio Exilim - is this really a camera or a trinket to wear around ones neck? I did make a sort of a pano with the Exilim today though - handheld 5 quick shots and stitched in PS CS4....not too bad.].

Looking forward to seeing a report from the big event (assuming you will make it to your rooftop with a zoom and your trusty ol’ tripod) ;=)
