Today’s glorious sky in the evening

Spotted this beauty of a wasp on the money-plant leaves this afternoon. Got out a 105mm micro lens but could not position the tripod high enough…. so I got a few hand-held frames and surprisingly many were sharp enough. Used CLS fill-flash to bring out the detail and open up the shadows.

I had the camera with a 300mm lens, on a tripod faced out pointed at some shrubs waiting for a pair of Sunbirds. Mannat [our daughter] came by and peered through the viewfinder and wanted a few tips how to get the exposure right. Ok, here we go…. in theory the camera meter averages out [...]
