SoFoBoMo 2009 … getting closer
SoFoBoMo 2009 start date is getting closer.
May 1st being the first day one could start, but I haven’t yet decided on my “fuzzy month” start-date.
Last year, I had planned to use just one lens for the entire project – but then I changed the theme of my project and the restriction to use just one piece of glass became redundant.
Am toying with the idea again this time… a Lensbaby or maybe the Nikkor 50mm f/1.2 MF lens. Makes the project more interesting for me to limit the extent of the equipment. Or maybe I’ll be a bit flexible and use two primes – a 50mm and 35mm, or a 85mm and 50mm… the final decision will be what my 2009 SoFoBoMo theme is going to be though. If I stick to portraits, its definitely going to be the primes. Or the 24-70 AF-S if I do parts of the “Old Town“.
I’ve been trying getting the hang of the book layouts in Scribus after not having used Scribus a year now. Have pretty much decided my 2009 book will be a simple output-to-PDF project and not a print version via any of the PODs available.
Read this Photo Expressions: SoFoBoMo piping where “everything SoFoBoMo” turns up. And the Official SoFoBoMo 2009  website.

Thank you for the comment you left at my Smugmug gallery. I am delighted that you dropped in and like that shot. Two things I can’t resist: trees and sunsets.
I remember your project from last year and look forward very much to your book for 2009. I know that whatever you decide to do, it will be original and a joy to browse through.
I enjoyed your 2008 SFB [hey, thats a nice short one for So...Fo...Bo... Mo!] too. And the title was so nice “A Last Look”. Nice piece of work. The image of the raw apricots [they are apricots, right?] was just delicious. I could smell them. Actually, enjoyed all of the ‘08 books. This year, it might get a bit difficult to keep up with 100’s of works-in-progress and even look through everyone’s output – but the intention is to try look through them all. Over 400 participants in 2009 already, and am sure Paul is having nightmares from all the web hosting stuff he’s gotten himself into
Thanks for more kind words. Yes, those were apricots. Oh, how I miss those trees. I agree that it will be extremely difficult this year to keep up the way we could last year. I’m betting that even Paul is surprised by the growth this year.
