Diary of a Mango Tree – day 2
I wake early. Draw the curtains and wonder which birds will be visiting the mango tree this morning. The light is low and I see a movement in the branches… a bird?
No. It turns out to be a tiny little furry creature who has come looking for breakfast. A little squirrel! It is really energetic, and does not stay still for a moment. Scampering up and down the branches. The AF assist lamp of the SB800 helps keep him in focus though.
He knows I am there from the sound of the camera shutter. I get a dozen frames before he leaps off the tree on to the Mahogany on the other side.
And two hours later a flock of beautiful Parakeets come to check if the fruit is ripe and ready to feast on…

A Rose-Ringed Parakeet. The one on the top right is another who is about to alight on the branch above. There were probably 5 or 6 of them this morning.

both are lovely!
your mango tree seems to be a pretty busy place !! great pix.
