Day 2:
The chicken market in Dhaka’s Karwan Bazar area. This market is wholesale veggies, fruit, chicken, goats…. and probably some spices… not sure. Vendors crushing fresh sugarcane for thirsty workers, the sherbet-sellers doing brisk business, “paan” and cigarette vendors carrying trays of their wares slung from straps around their necks. A busy place. And smelly. The chicken butchers doing their job right there out on the street with blood, feathers and innards all over the place. Yucky, but very colorful and photographic!

Congratulations! It sounds as though this might have been the project you were meant to do.You certainly are capturing the hustle and bustle of the market along with all its rich color. The reds in this one pulling my eye through are irresistible.
Yes, I should have known from the beginning that people and busy places to me are a magnet pull…we are off tomorrow morning early again to do some at an abandoned train-wagon yard. Homeless living in and under the wagons, rickshaw pullers waiting to ferry their customers to where ever, a bus-stop nearby with early morning commuters waiting to pile in or on top of busses….
Vibrant colors – great portraits! More on paan vendors!!
