When I had sacked-off and traded-in a couple of DX lenses [Nikkor 17-55 f/2.8 and the 18-200 VR], I  bought a brand-new 24-70 f/2.8 Nano and a used 80-200 f/2.8 . The 24-70 performs well, as expected. But the lens that really shines out is this older 80-200.  When I tested it at the shop, I was startled by the clarity and detail of the images it created. Two lovely available-light portraits resulted in the first few days of owning it.  Now again, I see the quality that this lens can deliver – from portraits done as a part of the Really Rosie WIP. I’ve been shooting with this lens hand-held and it delivers amazing quality…..
