The SoFoBoMo Project
After having been inspired by many different ideas for the SoFoBoMo project, and having dropped these one after another.... I took a long drive out to the countryside hoping for new inspiration. None came.
On the drive back home, I toyed with the idea of producing something that would have some use and something that would not simply be a collection of images..... I've always been interested to work with artists and so an idea took root: Produce a book that could be used as a sort of portfolio - a bio. I called up 2 of my artist friends, and gave them a run down on the SoFoBoMo project and my plans for it. So it was decided, I'd spend time at their home studio for a few weeks a few hours everyday and photograph them. Fareha Zeba who is a painter and her husband Saidul Haque Juise a paper sculptor and mask/puppet maker. I'll photograph and record their daily life, casually, while they work and go about doing what they do.... creating works of art....and they do it beautifully. This project will [eventually, hopefully] turn into a small book with a collection of photographs, some background information about the artist pair, and some excerpts from our conversations...etc.....
5/01/2008 update: SoFoBoMo website goes live!
