Waterbaby and Sunbirds

And so Mannat was straight into the pool this afternoon after school with a rubber ball that she would submerge and then let it «bounce» out of the water. This went on for an hour....and then she spotted a pair of Sunbirds in the shrubs, I got a few frames as they went into the tree and then they shot off as I approached closer....I particularly like the photo of the vertical dive and they took wing.

And a nice sunset... while I was writing this post....so a few quick ones from the window. The color of the light and the buildings made me think of music by Pink Floyd.

Mashobra view

A couple of photos - the view from our cottage in Mashobra [near Naldehra]  in the Shimla Hills. The mist rolling up the pine forested hills and a nice sunset later that evening.

Niks Thailand fixed up my D2Hs with a new coat of rubber and a new CF card-door. Looks bright and new and feels just great. The control wheels move smoother too now... nice!

Sunset and Channa-Chur time

Sunset Jan 10 2008Evening and its Channa Chur time with the vendor calling out in a loud voice through his tin mega phone - «Channa Churrrrrr!».  His first customer took one mouthful, spat them out and so the Channa Chur chap sat down to have a nice chew himself...

Channa Chur

Channa Chur for the uninitiated: Puffed rice, boiled black chick-peas, chopped onion, green chili, coriander leaves, chopped tomato, salt, squeeze of lemon juice and a few drops mustard oil all shaken up together and served in a paper cone. Yum! And oh, the chopping-up is done with a rusty old knife - adds to the special flavor!
