How to Float a Ball

We setup a remote flash facing a white wall in the driveway while Tejas was bouncing and catching a tennis ball.  The intention was to get a photo with the ball mid-air. It was surprisingly easy to accomplish without having to resort to a continuous-frame burst. The timing was important, and the flash froze the ball [BTW, a common flash setting error is here].
Tejas and ball Mannat Mannat, being hatty at sunset -

Curiosity brought Deepu around, to look at this flash that was going off by «magic». Got a few of him.... going «ohhh! Yey kia ho raha hai?» [Oh! Whats happening here?].
Deepu Babu And then Babu, jack-of-all-trades, had to be called a few times to climb and retrieve the ball from the roof of the house - a result of overly peppy tosses.

iced-lolly hunt
I had «hid» a wireless flash inside the freezer, and asked Tejas to go look for a iced-lolly... the surprise on his face when the flash went off inside  the freezer compartment gave me the chance to get a quick second shot and his expression.

Ghaziabad, September 27th.

And just for kicks here is one on how to defy the Earth's gravity.
